It's discouraging of course, but real authors face rejection all the time. Whether it comes from publishers, editors, critics, or even readers, anytime you put your work out in public it's going to get shot down a few times before it flies. Serious authors must develop some really thick skin. Here's hoping the callouses grow quickly!
