Z- NeoOffice is a fully featured port of OpenOffice.org adapted for users of Mac's OS X operating system. You could try that package and see if it works for you. All freeware solutions require a bit of trial and error. And support is usually a bit harder to find unless you are willing to do some of the troubleshooting yourself. Good luck.

Richard,

do you know a similar freeware for a mac? I have been looking for one, but I guess I have been looking under different rocks at the wrong places.

if you have an idea, please let me know.

I am trying out the pdf converter site. I hope it works.

Mike - an up-o-date version of Microsoft Word would be an all-in-one software package, at least for the word processing part. And Adobe Photoshop is an all in one package for the cover art. Unfortunately both these software packages are expensive for starving wannabe authors like myself. Freeware options just fit my budget better. Cheers!

Wow - sounds like you have quite an arsenal of software products to get the job done for you. Too bad there was not one product available to do all of it.
