1st Chapter is online!

by Richard Perkins

Well, I’m finally satisfied enough with the layout and overall design of the site to start uploading content. I’ve posted the first chapter of my writing on the Writer’s Lair. There’s also a teaser synopsis of the series posted there as an introduction.

In other news, I attended Intersolar North America’s opening day session on Concentrating Solar Power technology and markets. It was a bit light on technical content for my preferences, but hopefully the other sessions during the week will have more meat. I’ll be up there most of the week, which will give me time to write on the hour long “bullet” from San Jose to San Francisco.

After riding on maglev trains that run in excess of 400 km/h, I’m a bit jaded about CalTrain’s use of the term “bullet.” I don’t think my fellow Americans really understand the concept of high speed rail.

But slow rail is better than no rail I always say! ;-)

  1. Maybe the implication is that after suffering through the comparable non-’bullet’ train on mornings when you arrive at the station late, you’re ready to take a bullet (pun intended)? Bella and I are both glad that you probably won’t be working in “The City.” :)
